Manufactured by Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas and gained by the U.S. Air Force on August 10 1967. It's civilian registration number is 337M-0064. Nov 1967 To 504th Tactical Air Suuport Group, 20th Tactical Air Suuport Squadron (Pacific Air Forces), Da Nang Air Base, Vietnam. Mar 1970 Aircraft dropped from U.S. Air Force inventory due to flying accident, hours on the airframe are currently unknown. Additional note: According to Chris Hobson's book Vietnam Air Losses, page 198, The crew of an O-2A was killed during a training flight over Thue Thien province, South , Vietnam when the aircraft flew into a ridge, presumably through an error of judgement. The crew members were Capt Gerald Edward Hull and 1Lt James Stephen Baird, both were kiled while flying. |
