Manufactured by Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas and gained by the U.S. Air Force on July 25th 1967. Civilian registration number 337M-0048. Sept 1967 To 504th Tactical Air Support Group, 23rd Tactical Air Support Squadron (Pacific Air Forces), Da Nang Air Base, Vietnam. Oct 10th 1969 Aircraft dropped from U.S. Air Force inventory as a combat loss, hours on the airframe are currently unknown. Additional Note: according to the paperback book Vietnam Air Losses by Mr. Chris Hobson, page 190 O-2A s/n 67-21343 and OV-10A s/n 67-14635 both aircraft as well as there crews were assigned to the 504th Tactical Air Support Group, 23rd Tactical Air Support Squadron collided in mid-air as they were orbiting over a downed American Airmen during a search and rescue operation, all four crewmembers managed to escape from both aircraft and were rescued by HH-3 and HH-53 Helicopters. |
